Self-Host Hermes Agent On Your Own Server
A Self-Hosted AI Agent With Its Own Dashboard
Nous Research's open-source AI agent: it remembers, learns skills, runs scheduled jobs and can answer you in Telegram, Discord or Slack. Its web dashboard, where you configure it and chat with it, runs on your own server.
What ZipLoom Does When You Launch It
The Publisher's Own Image
ZipLoom runs Nous Research's official image (nousresearch/hermes-agent:stable) on a server you rent from Vultr, DigitalOcean, Contabo or Amazon Lightsail. Nothing is rebuilt or repackaged on the way.
Secrets Generated For You
The 2 secrets this app needs are generated at launch and kept in your project's encrypted vault, never typed by hand or stored in plain settings.
Your Admin Sign-In, Ready
The first admin password is generated for you; you reveal it in the Secrets Vault (Guild plan and up).
A Login In Front Of It
This app has no sign-in of its own, so ZipLoom puts a username and password in front of it before any request reaches the app.
Your Data Stays On Your Server
Its data folders live on your server and are kept across every redeploy and update.
An Image Vulnerability Scan
At every deploy the image is scanned on your server for known vulnerabilities and the counts are shown in the deploy log. The scan reports; it does not block the deploy.

Good To Know Before You Launch
- Two sign-ins, by design: ZipLoom's (username admin) and then the dashboard's own (username admin). Both passwords are in this project's Secrets Vault.
- Hermes is an agent: it runs commands and installs tools inside its own container (no access to the server's other files or to Docker), and it can reach the internet. Treat access to its dashboard and chats like a login to the server.
- Add a custom domain so both sign-ins travel over https.
- Browser tools inside Hermes may need more shared memory than the default; the dashboard says so if a tool fails.
